John Stubley PhD is a writer, poet, narrative designer and creative action researcher working with observation, reflection, imagination and poetics to gain insight into—and work creatively with—both the social and natural worlds.
He currently works between The Centre for Dialogue at the Australian National University, the Boston-based Presencing Institute, and the Dutch-based landscape-restoration organisation Commonland. He has previously worked with the Centre for Social Impact at the University of Western Australia where he co-founded several state-wide systems-change programs, as well as with an MIT global executive education program in the Asia Pacific region where he was Australian faculty.
He does action research on the intersection of creativity, imagination, narrative and large-scale systems change, including the regeneration of both social and natural landscapes. He is the founder of Social Poetry as a creative action research methodology used in awareness-based systems change.
He lives on Whadjuk Noongar Country in Perth, Western Australia.
This site is a base for his writings and other work in relation to both the natural and social worlds.
